Raised mounting rings with center hole are located inside the back wall of the box for surface mount installations, basement, or attic studs. Ideal for mounting light fixtures and smoke & carbon monoxide detectors. Requires 9/16-inch driver, not included. Supports fixtures up to 6 pounds, 2-1/2 inches deep. Not for use on lath and plaster walls.
